Strong words, but… I strongly disagree with the term “war.”
America is not at war with Iraq. Our military is an occupying force, unfortunately. Americans, liberals and conservatives alike, should avoid the trap of tangentially validating this illegal, aggressive military action, as such. Our Congress has not declared war, mainly because Bush 43 never proved that the actions of prior regime in Iraq justified such a proclamation. The AUMF (Authorization to Use Military Force) was conditional!! It was not a blank check.
There are plenty of other good points in Maher’s New Rules diatribe.
