This is your opportunity to get in on ‘The Next Big Thing’ in the blogosphere, Progressive Division.
I’ve been watching greenreflex’s Congressional Committees Project and posted about it before. It seemed to me that this dKos associated project had, and has, real potential for allowing the netroots to influence Congress. It would seem that Speaker of the House (elect) Nancy Pelosi’s office agrees. greenreflex’s diary linked here tells the story. I recommend that you keep in touch with us or greenreflex about this development for several reasons.
First, the numbers of people entering Left Blogistan and looking for information since the election is exploding. You can see in the threads on the big sites such as dKos, The Huffington Post, FireDogLake and elsewhere. People asking questions and injecting their ideas which clearly indicate that they just arrived in this Noosphere.
Technorati shows that blog formation and use is mushrooming.
Surveys show that the citizenry no longer consider the Corporatist Medias accurate or trustworthy. No surprise as the Wise Old Men of the Punditocracy continue to get every single thing they write wrong. In the case of Iraq, the engine behind many of the shifts we see in the political landscape, they have and continue to get it dead wrong.
Surveys also show that a transition is occurring with more citizens coming to the Internet for news every day.
Finally, politicians have discovered, some the hard way, the netroots mean business. The netroots mean money for your campaign…if you’re truly progressive, not a bullshitter. The netroots can hand you your ass if your fuck up as ex-Senator ‘Macacca’ Allen discovered. The net roots can help put you over the top in a tight race as the corrupt AssClown Conrad Burns found out when Jon Tester left the farm to come put D.C. right.
It looks like The Honorable Pelosi has realized this. I am very hopeful that this means the beginning of change in how politics is done in this country. Indeed, I believe this is an opportunity to do politics in an entirely new way. I urge everyone to check out the Congressional Committees Project and stay in touch with us.
We are gonna change things….
And for the better.
