Hmmmmm….Makjistes post linked above shows that Mr. Jelly-Ass, my cute Bushlike nickname for Bill, is fond of that charge. Edwards with a little prodding from the netroots finally stood up and told this religious bigot to stuff it. Sort of….

Now no matter whether Edwards is ‘your’ candidate or not if you are interested in changing our nation’s political system these sort of attacks on progressives, anyone actually, must stop.

Why, you ask?

Because being based on lies they undermine our society’s ability to choose effective leadership. Some say ‘they all do it!‘ .’Some’ are full of shit. ‘Sides didn’t yer mama tell you ‘Everybody’s doin’ it!’ is a lousy rationale for doing anything. Much less choosing folks who have the power to, oh, say:

Declare war….

Send yer ass to jail…

Allow your city to be destroyed and  not give it a second thought…

Even those who should know better have succumbed to this truly stupid meme.As for the ReichWing Noise Machine they are in full throat screaming epithets, lying, ’swift-boating Edwards for all they are worth.

This is where you come in. You the informed, concerned citizen. If you believe that John Edwards hasn’t done anything wrong and that Amanda and Melissa are entitled to exercise their free speech rights then our new, new friends BlogPac have the solution. The MSM Makes Us Want to Puke… Again!

The MSM obsessive coverage of Anna Nicole Smith’s death today is making me sick. The very worst part of it is not the fact that they are milking the misfortune of others for their own gain or the fact that they are turning a very somber event for a very torn-up family into a circus. No. The worst part of it all is the fact that they are calling a two-hour long obsessive media circus “Breaking News.”

The “Breaking News” is that she died today after collapsing in a Hard Rock hotel in Hollywood, Florida. There is no news yet of the cause of death, and we are waiting for a press briefing from the officials at the hospital. An autopsy is expected to be performed tomorrow. End of story. That’s it! That’s the “Breaking News”! What would that take? All of say, two minutes? And then a five minute long retrospective of her life: Guess model, Playboy Playmate of the year, married 89 year old millionaire who died shortly after, sued by family, son died last year. Done!

Breaking news is NOT a two-hour long boring, repetetive recap of her whole frigging life! That is NOT “Breaking News”!! Then to have Nancy Grace – that horrible vulture of death, that haggard feeder of carion, that vampire witch that she is – do a show on Anna Nicole Smith for her own profit!?! Let’s not forget that it was a high and mighty Nancy Grace that accused Ebay of profiting off of Jean Benet Ramsey’s murder when someone sold something on its stupid site. The goddamn nerve of that bitch, Nancy Grace!

The state of News and Main Stream Media in general in this country is Pathetic and Disgusting! I’m going to go vomit now.

MISTRIAL – Lt. Ehren Watada case thrown out

Just in case you haven’t heard (AlterNet), “An Army judge has declared mistrial in the court martial of Lt. Ehren Watada, who can’t be retried for the same charges.” More from the article below:

When the Army judge declared a mistrial over defense objection in 1st Lt. Ehren Watada’s court martial on Wednesday, he probably didn’t realize jeopardy attached. That means that under the Double Jeopardy Clause of the Constitution, the government cannot retry Lt. Watada on the same charges of missing movement and conduct unbecoming an officer.Lt. Watada is the first commissioned officer to publicly refuse orders to deploy to Iraq. He claimed those orders were unlawful because the war is illegal and he would be an accomplice to war crimes if he followed them.

The judge refused to allow me and others to testify as expert defense witnesses on the illegality of the Iraq war and the war crimes the Bush administration is committing there.

The Uniform Code of Military Justice sets forth the duty of military personnel to obey only lawful commands. Article 92 says: “A general order or regulation is lawful unless it is contrary to the Constitution, the law of the United States “

Lt. Watada said at a June 6, 2006 press conference in Tacoma, Washington, “The war in Iraq is in fact illegal. It is my obligation and my duty to refuse any orders to participate in this war.” He stated, “An order to take part in an illegal war is unlawful in itself. So my obligation is not to follow the order to go to Iraq.”

Announcing Yet Another New Blog

Based on the format of my last post, I have created a new blog to highlight some of the best ‘Comments’ in the blogosphere. It is located here:

Sometimes the comments made about blog posts are highly insightful, amusing and thought-provoking. Sometimes they are not.

I think that the best ones deserve a little attention and a little limelight of their own. I make a point in each post to link to the specific post where the comments were found as well as the name and homepage of the blog on which it was posted.

I’ll try to keep up and keep the topics timely and/or timeless. The blog roll will grow as new blogs are featured in the posts.

Ultimately my intention is to celebrate not the bloggers (who already get plenty of attention) but the sometimes anonymous, sometimes troll-rated and almost always underappreciated ‘everyman’ of the net roots… the humble ‘commentor’.
