Keith Olbermann tells Condi-lies-a-lot: You are an idiot. And he was never more right.

Here is is and a fine job of speaking the truth to power it is….

Frankly I can’t improve on this at all. So I won’t try. Get on over to our Drinking Liberally meetup at Luka’s tomorrow, Wednesday February 28th 6 pm, and ask malcontent about David Sirota’s Progressive States Action Network.

Money That’s What I Want! Gimme Whole Lotta Money! That’s What I Want!

Gotta love these video posts as I’m all alone here now and don’t have the time to create the sort of post I’d like.

But….

Stay tuned I got somethin’ on the stove a simmerin’ away and I believe it will be mighty tasty!

“It’s time for you to turn off the TV and stop playing GameBoy… We’ve got work to do.”

February 26, 2007

This quote by Presidential candidate Barack Obama apparently resonates strongly with two different crowds in two totally different ways.

For someone like me – who can’t stand the fact that millions of people around the world are obsessed with video games and who also thinks that 99% of stuff they air on TV is intended to turn its viewers into capitalistic marketing zombies – I think he’s got a great message.

However, there is quite a bit of outrage from the gaming crowd as is evidenced by a simple Google search of “obama gameboy”. One gamer comments: “He sounds like a total f**k-wit that’s totally out of touch with reality. He’d make a great president!” Another one writes: “He just lost all the gamers votes… *Shakes head* I was going to vote for him too…”

I am pretty impressed, however. Instead of sounding like a tool of Corporatist America like our current Preznit who says we should all “go shopping” to help recover from such disasters as 9/11, Obama dares to try to shake people out of their slumber. He actually suggests that people turn off their video games and TV! What a rebel! What a breath of fresh air! Almost reminds me of another feisty populist candidate who became a rockstar politician named Howard Dean.

Unfortunately, I fear that “The Powers That Be” in this country will not let a black man who encourages citizens to ‘wake up’ and think for themselves and get active in civic life run for President on a major party’s ticket… maybe on the Rainbow or Green party ticket but not a party that can actually win!! Heaven’s no!

So I am officially predicting that Obama will not win the Democratic nomination. Expect there to be a huge smear campaign and an outrageous media circus amplifying false allegations or unconfirmed rumors or a controversial statement or action (remember Dean’s scream?) He’ll be fun for a while. The media will get ratings for several months. Eventually, however, they will put the dagger in – metaphorically speaking of course – ending any hope Obama had of ascending to the Presidency.

I hope I am wrong. Time will tell.

Hmmmmmmmm………

‘Some say…’ that the American people are really sheeple, fat dumb and ready to believe anything Bush or Cheney care to spew out of their flappin’ pie-holes.

Well, maybe….

And then again….

Maybe not!
