My favorite Quote so far about the Bush administration crime spree…

March 31, 2007

Yeah, I know not many convictions….yet. But I’m really down with BooMan of the excellent BooMan Tribune when he says of the large number of Bush administration officials, ReThug Congressmen and general dogsbody’s of the GOP who are being investigated that:

‘We’d have to legalize drugs to find enough cell rooms for them all.’

I salute you Boo for this weeks Notable Quote.

John Locke would have you know….

March 31, 2007

That One Pissed Off Liberal, my post on the use of language and what I consider unsuitable words is coming soon, is a guy who:

Knows what he’s talking about.

Don’t know who John Locke was? Well clik on his picture and you can read about him at Wikipedia. Yeah, I know they’re not exactly ‘cool’ these days but hey, they be handy and Locke’s entry is pretty good. I guess the wingnuts haven’t gotten to everything…yet.

Ah………the smell of Impeachment in the Morning!

March 30, 2007

condi_rice.jpg
Cute as button is she in her naval aviator’s helmet. Well, what the hell do you want? She can’t stuff her codpiece like her husband ‘The Decider’…well she could I guess but that would most likely drive the transgendered folk wild. And, perhaps not in a good way.

OK, OK, enough with teh snark!

Emptywheel over af FDL has put together a dyno-mite timeline of what’s comin’ in Congress. It ain’t quite ’subpoena time’ yet but the table is being set.

Here ya are:

March 23 Deadline for Condi to turn over (Condi apparently ignored this deadline–see her upcoming date with Waxman below)

March 30 (today!) House and Senate [correction–DOJ wanted joint interviews, but it appears only the House Judiciary is involved at this point] Judiciary Committees begin to interview [in private interviews –so don't look for it on CSPAN] 7 current and former DOJ employees on the USA purge; interviewees include:

  • Paul McNulty
  • William Moschella
  • Michael Elston
  • William Mercer
  • David Margolis
  • Monica “Five for Freedom” Goodling
  • Michael Battle

March 30 (today!) Deadline for State Department to turn over information on problems with the DynCorp contract to train Iraqi police

April 5 [House Oversight] Deadline for Fred Fielding to turn over information on the gwb43 and other non-governmental email practices (with interviews to occur the week of April 2)

April 5 [House Oversight] Susan Ralston scheduled to give deposition on the White House role in the Jack Abramoff scandal; this will include questions on the gwb43 email server

April 6 [House Oversight] Deadline for Josh Bolten to turn over all paperwork on MZM’s contract to install furniture sanitize the mail in OVP

April 7 [House Oversight] Deadline for information related to DOJ interference in tobacco settlement

April 10 [Closed SSCI hearing] CIA detention

April 12 [Closed SSCI hearing] National Security Letters

April 13 [House Oversight] Deadline for Karl Rove to answer questions regarding the PowerPoint targeting Democrats and potential Hatch Act violations

April 17 Soon to be former AG Alberto Gonzales testifies before Senate Judiciary Committee

April 17 [Closed SSCI hearing] Telecom liability act

April 18 [House Oversight] Condi visits (ha!) Waxman’s committee to answer questions on the Niger intelligence and all the other things Condi ignored from 16 letters Waxman wrote her before he got his gavel

April 19 [Closed SSCI hearing] FISA Modernization Legislation

May 17 hearing on the Wilson’s lawsuit

June 5 Libby’s sentencing hearing

That’s a whole lot of stuff fer President Pissypants to deal with. But….

I am not too sympathetic to this Fascist Fool who thought he could institute his own Reich here in the land of the free. ‘Some’ may not be as brave as they usta be but….

Waxman, Conyers and Pelosi with Feingold, Webb and Tester waiting in the wings? Against, Condi-lies-a-lot, Abu Gonzo, Dick ‘The Toad’ Cheney and ‘The Decider’.

I will take that matchup any day and give you odds.

Pass dat popcorn tekstone!

‘I am the Decider’ would, at this point in time appear to be a sick joke made by the biggest Fool we’ve ever had on any Hill….

March 29, 2007

Do you approve or disapprove of the way George W. Bush is handling his job as president?

Approve/Disapprove/Undecided
Total sample 17% 62% 21%
Voters 17% 66% 17%
Republicans 42% 38% 20%
Democrats 1% 85% 14%
Undeclared 11% 74% 15%

ReThuglicans, as usual, the last to know.

And…

Independents don’t seem to like some of the decisions Ol’ Bushie has made. Cain’t imagine why.

One solution to this: Impeach his vicious, lawless ass. Do it today.

If you live in Oakland, CA why just find the button which says ‘Impeach Bush’ in the sidebar to the right and clik away.

Words have power. Words have meaning and the proper choice of words at the critical time in history has freed men, liberated women and stopped wars.

March 28, 2007

With these words Madame Speaker Pelosi had won me over. I’ve got her back come hell, high water, Dick ‘The Toad’ Cheney, George ‘The Idiot’ Bush or any of the ReichWing scum who think THEY STILL HAVE SOMETHING TO SAY. THAT THEY STILL HAVE SOME SAY IN WHAT WILL HAPPEN NEXT. THAT THEY CAN OBSTRUCT THE WILL OF THE PEOPLE.

Here is what Madame Speaker said directly to the President today:

‘Calm down with the threats. There is a new Congress in town. We respect your constitutional role; we want you to respect ours. This war must end. The American people have lost faith in the President’s conduct of the war. Let’s see how we can work together. This war is diminishing the strength of our military, not honoring our commitment to our veterans, and not holding the Iraqi government accountable.’

Like I said, I’ve got her back as long as she keeps telling the nation the truths she packed into that short paragraph. Bush is out of control, the people see this, they want Congress to act.

What could be more pleasing to progressive than these thoughts?

Contact Speaker Pelosi and tell her how you feel about what she’s said.

Unlike Bush and the ReichWing, she wants to hear your voices.

You did it! Senate Votes to Leave Deadlines in Funding for The MeatGrinder!

March 27, 2007

I think they heard you guys. Harry Reid and the Democrats, no longer spineless, turned back the ‘rubber stamp’ ReThuglican Party by a party line vote. Here are the numbers from Kos:

50-48-2!

The breakdown:

Democrats voting for amendment (or the wrong way):

Mark Pryor (AR)

Independents voting for it:

Joe Lieberman (CT)

Republicans voting against it:

Chuck Hagel (NE)
Gordon Smith (OR)

Not voting:

Mike Enzi (R-WY)
Tim Johnson (D-SD)

This means that the following Republicans facing tough or potentially tough reelection battles in 2008 just voted to escalate Bush’s war with no accountability. These guys just voted to attach themselves even closer to Bush’s hip:

Norm Coleman (NM)
Susan Collins (ME)
John Cornyn (TX)
Liddy Dole (NC)
Pete Domenici (NM)
Mitch McConnel (KY)
Pete Sessions (AL)
John Sununu (NH)
John Warner (VA)

These idiots will be hearing from their constituents. Big time I’m thinking. Gee.. Joey the Liarmann’s vote sure counted for a lot here. I hope the bone-heads in CT, the NutBall State, are happy with their lying scum of a Senator.

Now it’s on to conference committee where maybe Madame Speaker Pelosi can squeeze ‘The Decider’s’ nutsack a little harder. And then…

It’s veto time!

YeeeeeeeeeeeeeHaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaw!

Watching Bush explain why he cut off funding for the troops is gonna be sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet!

George? If you or the NSA are lissening in? Jes remember….

‘Politics has consequences.’

Fool.

It looks like Karl ‘PigBoy’ Rove may have been…

March 26, 2007

Just a little too damn clever. Apparently, in a fabulously dumb move he and other denizens of the White House, specifically the one’s President George ‘The Idiot’ Bush relies upon for ‘unbiased, unvarnished, advice…’, this is the ‘argument’ BushDummy is using in trying to prevent Senate Democrats from questioning these fine, upstanding presidential counselors under oath have been using Republican National Committee servers to get their story’s straight communicate with each other by email regarding the U.S. Attorney criminality process.

I would like to know, along with Josh Marshall and the rest of the American People, just how executive privilege covers emails from the national committee of a major political party.

I bet Senator Leahy would like to know that also.

Flash Update: The ratfink criminals top officials of the DOJ involved in this attempt to subvert the rule of law in our nation are already ‘Taking the Fifth.’

Iraq War up for Vote in Senate!

March 26, 2007

The bill which just left the House setting a timetable for withdrawal and requiring troop readyness levels in The MeatGrinder is coming before the Senate. Since the provisions affecting Bush’s…

‘…stupid, destructive, futile exercise in presidential hubris is brought to an end.’
—-Representative Paul Hodes (NH-02)

Needs only a simple majority to pass it’s very possible that this can be done. If you help pressure the lickspittle Congress. Even ReThuglicans are ready to vote for this as they see their Grand Old Piece of Shit Party being wiped from the face of the earth in 2008 if the United States led by ‘The Decider’ is still dying in Iraq.

Email or, better yet, call you Senator and demand they vote this legislation through as is!

You can contact them here………..
