Iposted about it right after I saw it and still consider it to be worth a look and capable of provoking some useful discussion about what the duties of a citizen are in a Fascist state such as we find ourselves living in. It had it’s detractors, notably the guy who reviews for the New Yorker, he frankly had no clue that he was living in republic that was rapidly spiraling into crisis, malcontent also weighed in with his version of ‘The Truth’ about 9/11. The Washowski Brothers definitely took this one a lot further than I thought they would in terms of calling an out of control cabal of NeoCon sockpuppets acting at the behest of The Corporate Slave State what they are, that is:
Fascists intent on ending the freedoms we Americans still enjoy.
This movie covers many of the issues we find ourselves discussing at D/L and I’m sure it will get you pumped up about the upcoming battle for the soul of our democracy. The outcome of that battle clearly depends on what you and I do. Which means we, you and I, working together will determine whether future Americans live in freedom or as slaves…
…on their knees to the likes of Cheney and Bush.

Whereupon, Harry Reid can strip Joe LiarMann of his committee chairmanships, starting with HomeLand Security, give him a broom and dustpan. The only tools I’d be willing to bet he could use.
It must suck to be them. We should maybe cut them some slack in light of their superlative measure of suffering…? Maybe George is covering-up his suffering with attempts at comedy or perhaps by puffing his chest out and ‘keeping his chin up’.
Either way, he is doing a good job of concealing his immense personal suffering.

No one seems to know how it will end. Indeed many Americans are unaware of the deepening crisis involving the over 140,000 American hostages being held in Iraq. The amazing thing about it all is that this large number of Americans, all armed to the teeth and able to whip their weight in liberals several times daily, are being held hostage by one man President George W. Bush. Rather I should say they are being held hostage to Mr. Bush’s vanity and ego.
Folks who should know have stated unequivocally that ‘The war is lost…’. Let the ReichWing bleat all it wants about ’supporting the troops’ while they fail to fund Walter Reed Hospital to the extent that the roof don’t leak. Let them wander in their fantasy land of ultimate victory. The Iraqi government which the war pimps of the ReThug Party were, it seems like just yesterday, extolling for their free and open elections know better. They have taken the first steps to end the crisis by exercising their ’sovereignty’. But as we know there is only One True King and he is determined to continue the hostage crisis.
My way or the highway is his agenda. You see he knows that ’success is just around the corner’. ‘They will stand up so we can stand down…’
And there’s not much writing here either. Just one link to an article you should read. Who the ‘you’ is in that sentence is the only thing I will comment on. I spend a certain fraction of my time talking with ‘folks’ of the feminine gender. Many in the 25 to 35 age group, mostly in social settings. What can I say but that I always enjoy these conversations.
But….
When I inquire about these younger women’s interest in politics the vast majority react as if I’d just taken a shit on the floor in front of them. Hey, my momma taught me that if ya don’t ask ya do not find out.

Personally, I think the Religious Theocrats have stepped in it. But it all depends on the over 50% of the population whose most basic bodily process is now subject to state control.
See his lips move. The man is an effortless liar most probably because he’s spent his whole life doing just that. Lying to his family, the Air Force, his business partners….
…and now to the entire nation. I don’t believe I’ve heard him utter a truthful word in the last six years.
I, A.Citizen, believe candidates with strong, sound progressive stances deserve our support, particularly in primary races where they are opposed by folks who have been proven to be the opposite of progressive.
