Bush orders National Guard to Georgia…..

August 13, 2008

Yep, WW III coming right up folks. Seems Ol” Pooti-Poot, you remember Premier Putin the guy who’s eyes ‘Dumbya’ looked into and like dug him the max dude, is blowin the BeJesus out of Russia’s upstart pull away state Georgia where they have them some oil, not peaches.

I know a lot folks  are quite rightly concerned about Cowboy ‘Yee-Hawr’ and his pal The Vile Cheney but they are I believe worried about the wrong people. And before you start I’ve been ‘warning’ folks since 2000 and before. Hang with me while we trek to the sharp end of my argument. There will always be vile twisted creatures such as Bush and Cheney infesting our society and even, at times, rising  to positions of power where the damage they do is magnified until the troup pulls them down and renders ‘em harmless. This post is about someone else however. A person who failed her oath of office and in the doing of that has allowed Bush to remain in power to take his most recent shot at Armageddon. To me this person is to be condemned even more harshly than Bush. He’s sick in the head.

What’s you excuse Madame Speaker Pelosi?

You took Impeachment ‘Off the Table…’ and George just went nuts. The list of insane, stupid, dangerous things he’s engineered ever since you, illegally I might add Madame, gave him a free pass. Far, far, far worse than that you have through the use of cash and the intimidation that goes with it gone a fair way to destroying the Democratic Party. Let’s take a look at how Madame Speaker has spun her web of influence.

The lede:

‘As Americans sat glued to their television sets watching the most hotly contested presidential primary in American history, pundits counted pledged delegates won in caucuses and primaries and discussed the highly prized superdelegates’ endorsements. Eventually it would be these superdelegates, Democratic officials, governors, and members of congress, who would determine the nominee, since neither contestant won enough pledged delegates in the 52 primary contests.’

Notice that ‘Americans sat glued…’ paying attention to that which would play little or no role in the determination of who would represent the Democratic Party this Fall. What was on TV has nothing to do with it. It’s all about what goes on every day in the ‘Democrat’ Party the ‘business as usual that the corporatist press never bothers to tell you about. The sort of information that goes a long way towards explaining why nothing has changed since the Dems got a majority in both houses of Congress in 2006 and why nothing will change in the Year of Barky 2008, if he can get by Sister Beelzebub at Denver. To put it as simply as possible the rot in Congress is far deeper than most progressives believed and any of the rest of the citizenry are ready to believe.

Must be hard to work with the waves of stink billowing out of Madame Speaker’s office. Now go ahead and tell me it’s just the way things are….how it is….cain’t do notin’ about it. Well, it’s true that tales of corruption and even the ‘they all do it…’ come down to us from the Roman Senate, and before. Socrates is a real good example. And it’s true corruption will always be with us. But the countervailing fact is that we must always be fighting it and trying  to stamp it out. Why? Because corrupt folks are generally pretty bad people to have governing you. And I mean bad as in evil deserving of the guillotine  no messin’. Because you see corrupt rulers have lost all feeling for those they govern. Madame Speaker is a classic case and I would persuade you that she is a greater danger to the health of our nation than Bush.

The reason is simple. Madame Speaker is still there. In the House. Her corrupt anti-democratic machine in place. Do you remember when Madame Speaker first uttered those immortal words? The words that will define her entire political career?

November 8th, 2006

648 days ago folks. I was going to make  a list of all the illegal, stupid, and immoral things President Bush has done since that day. But even the illegal acts he’s commited, the one’s that we know of, would run to dozens of pages. You can go ahead and list your favorite most infamous ones in the comments .We get enough and I’ll cook up a poll and we’ll pick the most heinous three. The point is that by abdicating her responsibility as Speaker of the House, by shirking her oath of office, she has made herself and her party as guilty of the crimes of the Bush cabal.

She needs to go.

And now.

As you may or may not realize Cindy Sheehan is running to put Pelosi on the street where she belongs. Check the upper sidebar for a button that will take you to her site. I urge you to give so that the process of reformatioon can begin sooner rather than later.

Every day people are dying because Nancy Pelosi is a  corrupt politician who has sold  out her constituents, us, for the Benjamins. Heinous doesn’t do it justice.

Flash Update: Well Boosh did order the Guard to Georgia for ‘humanitarian aid’ but..well…he forgot to tell the Navy or the Russians so we just need to forget about that. Okay? Just another day on the job for Nancy’s lil’ boy.

A Brief Word…..

August 10, 2008

…..yeah, the revolution will not be televised. Indeed, there looks to be no revolution. With Barky calling for a non-vote Democratic Convention, he won’t get that predicts I, and McSame being…well, more of the same I suppose you could vote for Nader or Barr but neither are viable let’s face it. Sister Beezlebub still has a shot moreso every time Barky sticks his foot in his mouth and hops around going Uh…Uh…Muh! Currently the Bark-O-Meter has him at 1.5 hops per week. But enough of the cheap shots.

The real problem sits on ‘The HIll’ like a horrific knot of toads in human form. 535 elected representatives of the people.

Or not.

Yep, in situation, after issue, compounded by crisis we see that the legislative branch of our government is stuffed to the gills with folks who are one of three things:

Corrupt…the biggest faction. Politicians are trained early that it’s all about the Benjamins as our ‘system’ rewards those who get elected and under the current system you need lots of B’s to get elected…

Stupid…plenty of those after all if you’re buying a Congressperson you don’t need one that’s smart. Just one that loves to follow orders.

Nuts….Yeah, barking mad. These are the ones found in a hotel room with hookers and coke or an underage boy. Significant fraction….

So what to do. First up is very simple.

Get real.

Understand that the level of corruption is now at unprecedented levels. Levels no mere change in ‘party’ will fix. The job is a wholescale clean up similar to Hercules and the Augean Stables. Ever read that one? You should it’s not really about what it seems. Yeah, get real. No one candidate is going to ‘save’ us folks. Most adults realize reality don’t work that way but….

People want to believe.

Well…

Believe this.

If you and I don’t get off our asses and take back our government the future will be very bleak. The tipping point on many problems affecting our very survival as a society is near. I assert that the tools to fix those problems which threaten us most are also hand. Requiring only affordable amounts of money and some intelligent leadership. But with a government composed of the corrupt, the stupid and the barking mad we are not going to be able to use those tools.

What to do?

Look around join up with like minded folks. Stop talking and start doing. You will be noticing some changes around here as I ‘renovate’ my new primary residence. And no I don’t care what the Congressional mortgage lending ‘bail out’ bill says, it’s amazingly stupid go look it up, about how to treat ‘primary’ vs. ‘secondary’ residences.

One signpost to a new way is the widget in the upper right sidebar called: ‘Accountability Money Bomb’.

This takes you to a spot where you can contribute to a fascinating group headed by Jane Hamscher and a bunch of right wing folks. Yep, wingers and progressives…together. Seems there is common cause to be made by all Americans in the face of the Congress’s gutting the 4th Amendment. Here is the link to the statement of purpose from StrangeBedFellows the ad hoc group just beginning to get some traction. I will be blogging about this more as the idea of ‘Accountability for the Asylum (Congress)’ resonates with me.

Hope you will hang around as I am planning some extensive remodeling here and I hope you will find it interesting.

I don’t now about you…But I am sick and tired of being lied to…

August 9, 2008

….being treated as if I was some fool who’s opinion is of no import whatsoever. But whose money is good. Yeah…

How about you are you tired of the lies and  the b.s. and the corruption? In the words of  James Carville, ‘Had enough yet?’

I think you probably are. Many whom I have talked to have expressed these exact sentiments, and worse, about their
Democratic reps and the ‘Do-Nothings’ of the ‘Democrat’ Party. Oh! Did you think I was talking about Republicans?

Well, no…

After all the Dems have had a majority in both houses of Congress since 2006. Sure! You remember the worst liar, the most pathetic excuse for a human being, the woman who could if she so wished have stopped the occupation of Iraq in it’s tracks.

But who didn’t.

Remember her stream of lies about, ‘…..making the Bush administration accountable…’? Not to mention, and I’m  not, the ‘…Impeachment is off the table…’ cave in.  No, just evaluate Madame Speaker’s’ promises about what she would do against what she has done. Just looking at that against the background of the situation the nation finds itself in and I am prepared to assert that not only is the vile, heartless Pelosi the First Woman Speaker she may very well be the Worst Speaker we’ve ever elected.. That’s big job but Miss Nancy has been up to it sez I.

But for every action there is and equal and opposite reaction, physics yes but consider that everything is subject to the laws of that discipline, and we’ve got that reaction now.

Cindy Sheehan has qualified for the ballot. You’ve got a hardworking woman whom you know will not sell you out if elected and who is just the antidote our sick political culture needs. I intend to do whatever I can to help her send the vile Pelosi packing.

I’ll be keeping you posted on the Sheehan campaign’s progress and passing on every call for action from them. She is what progressives should be supporting a candidate who wants to shine the clear disinfecting light of progressive values into the fetid darkness our government currently works in.

This just in:

Cindy Sheehan Is On The Ballot!! Now Let’s Go For The General
Election Gold

Today we got confirmation that Cindy Sheehan has QUALIFIED for the
ballot as an independent candidate to challenge Nancy Pelosi for the
seat from the 8th Congressional district of CA. This required the
verification of the signatures of more than 10,000 of her
constituents, only the 6th time in history this has ever been
accomplished in the state of CA.

And it could not have been done without the heroic support of people,
not just in that one district, but from all over the country who
recognize that a successful challenge to Pelosi will do more to
compel real policy change than almost anything else we can do.
Pelosi, who has turned a deaf ear to the entire American people on
ending the war funding, impeachment and everything else, MUST be
defeated to start to finally hold the White House, and the rest of
Congress, accountable.

This is now a very winnable race, but only if we rally behind Cindy
Sheehan, who had the courage to call the recent non-impeachment
hearing the toothless sham that it was, and was thrown out of that
hearing for saying so. Let’s make her a member of Congress so they
can never throw her out again. Please make a donation now to help
Cindy Sheehan win the big one.

Cindy Sheehan Donations: http://www.usalone.com/donations_cindy.php

The faster we can give Cindy Sheehan a big head of steam, the faster
we can get the attention of each and every other member of Congress
who thinks they can just coast through their next election without
actually standing up for us. Let them know that there is a Cindy
Sheehan waiting in the wings in their district to take them down too
next time unless they do their job now.

The simple, cold fact is that unless and until Congress sees a
downside to their despicable cowardice there will be NO policy
change. We’ll repeat that. No policy change whatsoever. Their whole
self-justification is they point to the elections they are winning.
Unless and until we defeat one of their own, one of the biggest of
them all, we can send emails and make phone calls until we’re blue in
the face, and they will must keep lying to us and stalling. Yeah,
sure they’re just about to impeach. Sure.

Now some people (defeatists) will say, “Oh, you’ll never defeat the
Speaker of the House”. Well guess what, until we do they will never
take the voice of the people seriously. We HAVE to win. And we have
to do everything we could have done to make that a reality. So we are
calling on all of our participants to throw everything they have
behind candidates who will fight for the issues, the real issues.

And there is no better investment in time, energy or money we can
make now than to give Cindy Sheehan the biggest platform possible to
advocate for us.

Paid for by Cindy Sheehan for Congress

Please take action NOW, so we can win all victories that are supposed
to be ours, and forward this alert as widely as possible.

If you aren’t prepared to help this woman hold Congress accountable then take you do-nothing ass over to OpenLeft, FDL or dKos and play with the children.

Flash Alert: Yoo Protest This May 17th….Will you be there?

May 11, 2008

This just in….

Friends & fellow-activists,

Come out Saturday to protest the impunity granted to war-criminal John Yoo
by the Boalt Law School at UC Berkeley!

The Law School graduation is this Saturday morning, 5/17, and we need your
help to pull together a rousing turnout from AAT and other participating
groups, including the National Lawyer’s Guild, Code Pink, and World Can’t
Wait. We’ve talked to Boalt students who said that most of the graduates
are supportive of the planned protest (despite the shrill blogging of a
few).

We’re going to make our voices heard outside the Boalt graduation ceremony
to lend numbers to the call issued by the National Lawer’s Guild and
endorsed by the Center for Constitutional Rights: “John Yoo should be
disbarred and he should not be retained as a professor of law at one of
the country’s premier law schools. John Yoo should be dismissed from Boalt
Hall and tried as a war criminal.” (See the NLG press release at
http://www.nlg.org/news/index.php?entry=entry080409-083133).

Will you join us on Saturday?

Where: Hearst Greek Theatre, Berkeley California (east side of campus, on
Galey Rd – see directions below)
When: Saturday May 17, 2008
8am (ticketed guests will all be inside by 9 — you can take
a nap in the afternoon!!!)
A reception at the law school, just around the corner
(southeast corner of the campus) will follow the graduation
ceremony.

A recap of our e-mail of 2.5 weeks ago follows; and at the bottom we’ve
included directions for getting to the graduation, at the Hearst Greek
Theatre on the east side of the Berkeley campus. Want to come but don’t
think you can get there via the transportation options described below?
Drop us an e-mail and we’ll do our best to help out.

To recap: You’ve probably followed this month’s revelation of the
contents of John Yoo’s legal brief of March 14, 2003, advising the White
House how it could get away with torture. Jameel Jaffer, director of the
ACLU’s national security project, said Yoo’s legal reasoning puts
“literally no limit at all to the kinds of interrogation methods that the
president can authorize. [...] The whole point of the memo is obviously to
nullify every possible legal restraint on the president’s wartime
authority. The memo was meant to allow torture, and that’s exactly what
it did.” In the wake of the memo’s release, the National Lawyer’s Guild
has called for Yoo’s dismissal from his position at UC Berkeley, his
disbarment, and his prosecution for war crimes. The Center for
Constitutional Rights has released a letter in support of this call.

The graduation ceremony starts at nine, but our protest will happen BEFORE
the ceremony, beginning at 8 am when the gates at the Greek Theatre open
to guests (only folks with tickets will be allowed inside, but we’ll have
plenty of opportunity to make our point as students, faculty, and families
arrive through the two entrances to the Greek Theatre). During the
ceremony we’ll take a coffee break, and will return to line the route
between the Greek Theatre and the Boalt Law School where a reception will
be held.

We plan to have the usual orange jump suits & our cage, lots of orange
ribbons that we’ll ask people to wear inside the graduation, and excellent
signs for the many of you we expect will come out for this action.

Please join us on Saturday!!

Yours,

Period.

No factionalism, just good old-fashioned grassroots work on the infrastructure of the party. I’ll be adding more links as we get going.
Feel free to suggest one to a group which wants to change how and what is done rather than the face on the packaging.

Not going to get angry about this….will not lose my temper….Nope, not gonna get angry….

May 8, 2008

but I am going to ask you to take action. It seems our ‘Democrat’ Party lawmakers can’t even do that. Make laws that is without some outside help that is. Yep, the Telcos have stepped up to the plate to ‘help’ resolve the FISA crisis. I say send their CEOs and head legal counsel to the chokey. They all knew what they were doing and are still doing today was and is illegal. Totally illegal….

That’s why they want a get out of jail card folks. And guess who’s their to ‘help’ them ‘help’ the House. Our pals, our Democratic ‘Leaderscum’ Queen Pelosi and  her faithful sidekick Steney ‘I love Money’ Hoyer. Here’s a link to tell Hoyer, ‘Hell no!’ on this. Here’s one to the House and here’s one to the Senate. Let ‘em know how you feel. And, no, I don’t care how polite you are these assclowns are obviously listening to the sound of big money and ya gotta really get fierce to be heard over that.

And as we approach the elections please remember that Sister Beezlebub, McSame and The Glass-Jawed Barry are not the only game in town. We’ve two very progressive candidates for Madame Speaker’s job and frankly I can think of no better way to send a message than to give her the boot. That may not be possible, no polling exists as far as I know, but at the least we can send her a message. Something along the lines of, ‘Shape up or Ship Out!’

Frankly, I’d like to see her go or lose her Speakership. She’s been, as have many others in the Dem caucus, much more Republican than Democrat and that is not what the citizenry wants. Of that I am certain sure.

So, stay tuned. McSame vs. Whoevah! is not the only game in town.

Nancy Pelosi’s Day Job

April 26, 2008

Nancy Pelosi’s Day Job
Cindy Sheehan

PELOSI: I don’t even think about it much. You know, I have a day job. We’re here trying to -
Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi on Larry King Live

April 24, 2008

I arrived home from Oakland where I had just been doing my day/night job and I turned on my TV in time to see the end of the Larry King interview with my Congressional opponent, Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi (D-Ca). I sat on my couch, switched on the TV, and there she was. I watched for a few seconds while she blamed George Bush for taking the billions of dollars that she gives him every six months (like clockwork) to continue the explicitly illegal and infinitely immoral occupations of Iraq and Afghanistan.

Then, out of the clear blue, Larry asked her about my candidacy. This was the first time, to my knowledge that she has been publicly confronted about me. I have never seen her without her mask on and last night was no exception. She talked about my candidacy reflecting the dissatisfaction of the American public with the war and when he asked her if she was surprised that I had chosen her to run against, she condescendingly said the above.

First of all, I hope she makes the most out of her “day job” for the next eight months or so, because the people of San Francisco are going to remove her and hire me in November. The current issue of San Francisco Magazine asks this compelling question on the cover: Has Speaker Pelosi been a failure? The article then pretty much allows the Speaker, in interview style, to come to her own conclusion that she has not been a failure, but if that were true, our troops would be out of Iraq, BushCo would be out of the White House and our country would not be in a devastating recession as we speak.

Nancy Pelosi counts as two of her major “accomplishments” things that most people consider weak at best and pandering at most. In her 100 hours agenda, she did get an increase in the Federal minimum wage to $7.25 by next summer. The New York Times called it a “major victory” for low-income workers. By next summer, with the weekly increase of $84.00, low-income workers may be able to fill their gas tanks and buy a bag of groceries. In 2003, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services estimated in a report called “2003 Poverty Guidelines” that a living wage for a family of four was $8.85 an hour. The “generous” increase in the minimum wage level doesn’t even bring workers up to 2003 poverty levels when the cost of living is becoming prohibitive for nearly everyone except the wealthy who profit from federal tax cuts to compensate for having to pay their employees a higher, but still near-slave wage.

In a current ad campaign, Nancy sits on a love-seat with Newt Gingrich yammering about working together to create a better ecology, however her Congress passed another, too-little/too-late bill to benefit corporations while harming our environment and future. By 2017 all autos sold in the US must have a minimum of 35 mile per gallon standard. This is her one piece of environmental legislation that is a success for automakers, but again, we the people suffer. Wars for oil are literally sucking the life out of our communities while the pollution is choking the air we breathe. I bet everyone who owns a car right now wishes they could get 35 miles per gallon, at least, and many do! The technology is there and if we must drive and it seems like most of us must, it’s time to give some kind of credit, maybe in the form of down payment assistance, or lower interest rates on loans for “gas guzzler” exchanges. BushCo did the same for people who wanted to buy SUVs…let’s have a reverse exchange and conserve our resources for once!

Ms. Pelosi’s most abject failure of her “day job” besides having an open Gucci purse (fund the war contrary to American opinion or common sense), policy is her disappointing and traitorous act of taking impeachment “off the table.”

On May 1st, 2006, long before she picked up the Speaker’s gavel, she made the pronouncement that would negatively impact history and give BushCo carte blanche to commit their high crimes and misdemeanors and crimes against humanity. Moreover, it was in 2002, as reported by the Washington Post (December 8, 2007) that in performance of her “day job” duties, Ms. Pelosi was briefed on torture and did not object to the inhumane and ineffectual path that our nation was stepping off on. She has not called for the restoration of habeas corpus, Kyoto or FISA and has not called for the repeal of the Patriot Act, Military Commissions Act, Protect America Act or the authorization for BushCo to unilaterally attack any country that they unilaterally perceive as a threat to, not Americans, but American interests abroad.

There are probably many “day jobs” that Nancy Pelosi qualifies for, but representing the people of San Francisco is not one of them. She opposes universal, single-payer health care and has promoted and voted for “free” trade agreements that are the major contributing factors to environmental degradation, job loss, or job insufficiency, and to the food riots happening all over the globe today: coming next to a community near you.

81% of Americans think this nation is on the wrong track and the 19% who don’t, belong to the country clubs and board rooms with people that have the last names of Pelosi, Bush and Cheney—and the rest see this as a “hallelujah” moment for the second coming of Jesus—Nancy Pelosi’s day job is to co-pilot the USA to destruction with George Bush as the pilot.

All I can say is, don’t spend your “economic stimulus” all in one place and while the “bread” of the Romanesque empire is hitting your mailbox you can entertain yourself with the circus of American Idol.

It’s time we hire new pilots for our ship of state: obviously the old ones have lost OUR course. I hope Nancy keeps underestimating and dismissing the people’s campaign to eject her out of the co-pilot seat. Maybe her mask will finally drop when our dose of reality kicks in!

Be a Part of the Solution, Join the Revolution.

Is time running out on ‘The Torturerers’?

April 23, 2008

Could be. This story seems to indicate that ‘some’ in the EU are ready to enforce the rule of law no matter who they need to confront. If you’ve read much of what I’ve been saying for the last four years you will know that this comes as no surprise to me.

Question is how surprised will the estimable Professor Yoo be not to mention Dean Edgerly when the Bundeskriminalamt, German State Police, come a callin’? Here’s the opening para:

‘It’s not easy for me to generate a lot of sympathy for a CIA man involved in a kidnapping, but I feel sorry for Bob Lady.

Lady, many readers will remember, was the CIA’s base chief in Milan, Italy, and nominally in charge of a February 2003 agency operation to snatch an al Qaeda suspect off the city’s streets.

Sounded like a pretty good idea at the time. It was only a few months after we’d been smacked, big time, by al Qaeda killers here.

But the snatch turned into a public relations nightmare two years later when Italian authorities announced they had eyewitnesses and indisputable evidence tying the CIA to the crime.

So last week 26 Americans, most of them CIA employees, went on trial in Milan for kidnapping, albeit in absentia and to little notice here. They are fugitives from justice, with international warrants issued for their arrests.’

Read the whole thing. The times….they be a changing thanks to the idiot twins Cheney and Bush.

Question: Should we start a FaceBook petition to ask the UC Faculty Senate to fire Professor John Yoo?

April 18, 2008

Here’s the poll:

Exercise your right to speak out….

I will be ready to discuss this action starting at the next Drinking Liberally Brunch, which is Sunday April, 20th, at Luka’s Taproom and Lounge, world headquarters for Drinking Liberally, Oakland Chapter and lots of great Belgian beers. Feel free to drop in and let me know what you think.

There is a lot of outrage about Yoo’s cushy job at Boalt and, more importantly, his role in destroying whatever reputation our nation had as one that might be considered ‘Law Abiding….’

Question is are you willing to put some time and effort to do something?

Or is this gonna be another ‘All Hat…No Cattle….’ drive?
