His fabulous plan to ‘save Social Security’ was…well, nobody bought into it. His initial decision to let Mr. FourthBranch be his V.P. was perhaps his greatest conservative achievement leading to….

But ‘The Greatest’ was solely responsible for all that was he not?

Yes, the ‘Conservative’ Party led by their lying punkass MSM mouthpieces, some of them direct descendents of the movements founders, who wouldn’t know real work or how to solve a problem if either of those things bit them in the ass hard enough to send blood spurting. But these same ‘pundits’ can talk for hours about how victory for them and their Lame Duck President is just six months, and 500 more dead Americans, around the corner down the road.

You and I know all this.

The important thing now is to make sure the American people see this ‘conservative’ conspiracy for what it truly has been and will be:

The most dire threat to our nation since the civil war.

What’s This About Hostages!

The Shrill One wrote a column in The Economist today. You can read the whole thing here. I found it interesting that he was using the same analogy I did when I posted: We are now at Day 26 of the Hostage Crisis. I posted that back on April 23rd. One fact in that post has now been ‘superceded’ by The Unitary Executive. There are now plans for over 200,000 troops to be held hostage to Bush’s deranged ‘Git Them Afore They Get Us’ clusterfuck. As Krugman puts it:

If this were a normal political dispute, Democrats in Congress would clearly hold the upper hand: by a huge margin, Americans say they want a timetable for withdrawal, and by a large margin they also say they trust Congress, not Mr. Bush, to do a better job…

But this isn’t a normal political dispute. Mr. Bush isn’t really trying to win the argument on the merits. He’s just betting that the people outside the barricade care more than he does about the fate of those innocent bystanders.

By ‘innocent bystanders’ Krugman means the American troops serving now prisoners in Iraq. He goes on to use a famous Lincoln quote, what a amazing man he was, to highlight the immorality, the criminality of Bush and those he represents,

The whole situation brings to mind what Abraham Lincoln said … in 1860, about secessionists who blamed the critics of slavery for the looming civil war: “A highwayman holds a pistol to my ear, and mutters through his teeth, ‘Stand and deliver, or I shall kill you, and then you will be a murderer!’ ”

I do not believe the American people will be fooled by Bush’s attempts to place the blame for Iraq on the Democrats. Yes, yes I know that’s the Republican plan and I also know that the MSM is ready to play their part. Their are two reasons why I still have faith in the citizenry’s ability to see past this pathetic scam which I will get to below. First however we need to look at the failure of those we expected to stand up to ‘The Decider’. Yep, as it seems to be encoded in their genes, at least the ones in office at this time, the Democrats….

David lays out the slimy scheming of, get ready for it, Madame Speaker Pelosi. Yep, that is correct the woman who told us ‘impeachment is off the table….’ seems to  love her some Bush.

Jane over at FDL is a little excited about it too, but what the hell just suck on that imported Belgian beer and work on yer options list for your new Lexis. After all this legislation merely give President Bush authority to fast track trade deals.

We are now at Day 26 of the Hostage Crisis.

No one seems to know how it will end. Indeed many Americans are unaware of the deepening crisis involving the over 140,000 American hostages being held in Iraq. The amazing thing about it all is that this large number of Americans, all armed to the teeth and able to whip their weight in liberals several times daily, are being held hostage by one man President George W. Bush. Rather I should say they are being held hostage to Mr. Bush’s vanity and ego.

Folks who should know have stated unequivocally that ‘The war is lost…’. Let the ReichWing bleat all it wants about ‘supporting the troops’ while they fail to fund Walter Reed Hospital to the extent that the roof don’t leak. Let them wander in their fantasy land of ultimate victory. The Iraqi government which the war pimps of the ReThug Party were, it seems like just yesterday, extolling for their free and open elections know better. They have taken the first steps to end the crisis by exercising their ‘sovereignty’. But as we know there is only One True King and he is determined to continue the hostage crisis.

My way or the highway is his agenda. You see he knows that ‘success is just around the corner’. ‘They will stand up so we can stand down…’

And most important of all ‘The Surge is Working…’

Yep, Mr. Bush is convinced that holding 140,000 160,000 Americans hostage in Iraq until hell freezes over is the sure path to victory. After all….
