The Great 9/11 Contradiction

September 12, 2007

There have been hundreds of blog entries on the 6th anniversary of 9/11. This is part of what I find is a great contradiction. While our “leaders” use the events of 9/11/2001 to justify their often criminal actions, these same people expect us to simply accept their explanations of what happened that day: “stop asking questions you conspiracy nuts”. So they want to keep using 9/11 at the same time they are wishing it would go away.

Well, it’s not going away. Sifting thru dozens of 9/11 posts leads me and many others to conclude that “the truth will out”. Many people that have accepted the “official conspiracy theory” for years are starting to discover the truth. From various polls it appears that over 50% of the people in the US have serious questions about the “official story”. These people are unified in recognizing the need for a new 9/11 investigation.

Unfortunately, this is another case of the people being way ahead of most of our “representatives” in congress. There are a few exceptions like Dennis Kucinich and Ron Paul (see the patriotsquestion911.com link below). We are going to have to work hard to get a new investigation, but it is essential to the future of our country and the world that this crime be exposed.

We Report…You Decide…

Vice President Cheney, beloved of the populace would seem to be a candidate for Shutting His F$%&ing Pie Hole! But, he always has been and remains…..

one very dumb individual as well as having the conscience of a conservative.

What to Say when They Call

June 20, 2007

The Democratic Party has started already with the calling for donations.  I know I’m going to get a whole lot more calls in the coming months as we get closer and closer to E-day.  So are you most likely.

I have decided that I am not going to give to anybody that calls themselves a Democrat.  Why?  Because they are complicit in the criminal/psychotic situation we find ourselves in presently.  Whether it’s our illegal, immoral occupation of a soverign, oil-rich nation half-way around the world that is causing thousands of deaths and dismemberments of our own people (not to mention the innocent Iraqi population) or our own home-grown hijacking of the US Constitution by the insane criminal neocons who call themselves Republicans – the Democrats are not doing everything they could be doing… everything they should be doing to change things.

Okay they didn’t have the votes to override the veto of the troop withdrawl bill… but they could have fillibustered if they really wanted to get the job done.

They may not have all the votes necessary to impeach Bush, Cheney and Gonzales (yeah! all at the same time!  that’s what I’m talking about!) – but they could put the proposal up for consideration and see what kind of response they get… get the dialogue started – a motion of historic proportions.

That’s the kind of stuff that would send a message to me, my fellow Americans and the rest of the world that the Democrats are serious about fixing the problems we face instead of just giving us lip service.

So, when the DSCC or a Democratic campaign calls me for a donation I say something like, “NO.  I will not give you any money until you start impeaching the criminals in the White House that are ruining our country and destroying its reputation.  Get on the ball!” or “NO.  If you are going to continue to roll over for this adminstration on issues like our illegal occupation of Iraq, you will get nothing out of me.  Shape up and start getting this thing done: Bring Home Our Troops NOW!”

Liebermann. Liar. Delusional. Maybe the worst Senator Ever.

June 7, 2007

Check what Holy Joe is saying about these troops he is schmoozing with now that he is back, safe and sound in the U.S., out by clicking on the image below….

This arrogant scumbag has the gall to say that the increase in deaths of both American soldiers and Iraqi civilians is because the BushCo. surge is working. That’s right it’s workingit’s working...it’s working.…Clap louder ’cause Joe the Leader sez ya gotta or else you are a IslamoFascist yourself.

Hey Joe why don’t you strap that stupid-looking outfit you had on last week in Baghdad back grab a rifle and head on back to The MeatGrinder? What’s that you say Joe? You’ve gotta stay here and keep the ‘Democrat’ Party from undermining your Dear Leader’s President’s plans to plunge the Middle East into Armageddon, thus saving your precious state of Israel, while he simultaneously destroys the fabric of government here in the U.S?

Oh…

Well Okay Joe I did not know your work was so important to the smooth functioning of the New Fascist State United States Government. I’m sure we would miss you if you got yer fat head blown off in Iraq fighting fer freedom.

But you know something Joe?

I’m willing to take that chance to see the President’s plan succeed. So…

How about it Joe?

Are you game?

If you want to urge Joe to back up his callous, wingnut ravings by exposing his own lily-white ass to ‘insurgent desperation’ you can do so here………. And you don’t have to be a constituent. Something I would never want to be. I often wonder how the residents of The NutBall State sleep at night after having elected arguably the ‘Worst Senator Alive Today’.

Brzezinski, the CFR and real influence (updated)

May 21, 2007

Zbigniew Brzezinski

Update #1: more information has been added re: Zbig’s involvement with the current Director of National Security, Robert Gates, as well as Gates’ history in the CIA and the Iran/Contra scandal.

An interesting part of our conversation at the most recent Drinking Liberally Oakland Sunday brunch touched on some of the organizations and individuals who wield extraordinary control over our federal government, inasmuch as there are “outsiders” who affect both our domestic and foreign policy. One of the key figures is introduced here: Zbigniew Brzezinski (Jimmy Carter’s former National Security Adviser, as well as a former adviser to the Kennedy and Johnson administrations on Eastern European and Soviet affairs).

Following is an interesting interview with Andreas Von Buelow, a former German Minister of Technology, regarding some of the origins of the policies which brought us 9/11.

I would also like to encourage you to look into the 1997 book by Zbigniew Brzezinski, entitled “The Grand Chessboard.” On pages 210 – 211, ‘Zbig’ says:

[...] the critical uncertainty regarding the future may well be whether America might become the first superpower unable or unwilling to wield its power. Might it become an impotent global power? Public opinion polls suggest that only a small minority (13 percent) of Americans favor the proposition that “as the sole remaining superpower, the U.S. should continue to be the preeminent world leader in solving interantion problems.” An overwhelming majority ((74 percent) prefer that America “do its fair share in efforts to solve international problems together with other countries.” Moreover, as America becomes an increasingly multicultural society, it may find it more difficult to fasion a consensus on foreign policy issues, except in the circumstance of a truly massive and widely perceived direct external threat. Such a consensus generally existed throughout World War II and even during the Cold War. It was rooted, however, not only in deeply shared democratic values, which the public sensed were being threatened, but also in a cultural and ethnic affinity for the predominantly European victims of hostile totalitarianism.

In the absense of a comparable external challenge, American society may find it much more difficult to reach agreement regarding foreign policies that cannot be directly related to central beliefs and widely shared cultural-ethnic sympathies and that still require an enduring and sometimes costly imperial engagement. If anything, two extremely varying views on the implications of America’s historic victory in the Cold War are likely to be politically more appealing: on the one hand, the view that the end of the Cold War justifies a significant reduction in Ameirca’s global standing; and on the other, the perception that the time has come for genuine international multilateralism, to which America should even yield some of its sovereignty. Both extremes command the loyalty of committed constituencies.

Let’s keep in mind that Zbig has been a player in the field of international policy for ~40 years. He is a long time member of the
uber-secretive Council on Foreign Relations (the non-Commonwealth countries’ counterpart to the Royal Institute of International Affairs). He was also a founding member of the Trilateral Commission (the more public iteration of the CFR). He was also the one who identified Jimmy Carter as a potential Presidential candidate to the Rockefellers, several years before his first run, after which time they poured unprecedented resources into his campaign. Don’t forget to look into the connections between the Rockefellers and the Rothschilds. Talk about power, money and control.

Lest anyone think I am unduly targeting a member of a former Democratic administration, one of Zbig’s associates at the CFR, Robert Gates. He was also the co-chairs of the task force which produced a 2004 publication, entitled: Iran: Time for a New Approach (Report of an Independent Task Force Sponsored by the Council on Foreign Relations). In addition to Gates’ current position as GWB’s Secretary of Defense, he is also a former Director of the CIA agent (he was recruited to join the Agency while still attending Indiana University), as well as a rather “questionable figure” in the Iran/Contra scandal.

In that vein, we need to look at the manner in which these two both worked to facilitate the creation of the Mujahadeen, which was the precursor to the Taliban and, subsequently the father organization to ["very scary"] al Qaeda (oh, my).

When it comes to setting the table for future operations, here is another great article from a researcher I respect, Michel Chossudovsky at Global Research. Please note:

Amply documented, but rarely mentioned in 9/11 news reports, the “Islamic Militant Network” (the forerunner of Osama bin Laden’s Al Qaeda), was actually created during Jimmy Carter’s presidency (1976-1981). In July 1979, Carter signed a presidential directive to launch a secret plan in support of the Mujahideen in Afghanistan. Confirmed by former CIA director, Robert Gates, in his book, From the Shadows, this “secret plan” was instrumental in triggering the Soviet-Afghan war. (Robert Gates, From the Shadows: The Ultimate Insider’s Story of Five Presidents and How They Won the Cold War, http://www.gtexts.com/worthreading/gates.html ).

Most American high school history books describe how the Soviets invaded Afghanistan, “without provocation and with overwhelming force”. America then “came to the rescue” of the Afghan “resistance”. This happened under president Jimmy Carter.

Yet Carter’s National Security Adviser, Zbigniew Brzezinski confirms that it was the US and not the Soviet Union which started the war:

“According to the official version of history, CIA aid to the Mujahadeen began during 1980, that is to say, after the Soviet army invaded Afghanistan, 24 Dec 1979. But the reality, secretly guarded until now, is completely otherwise Indeed, it was July 3, 1979 that President Carter signed the first directive for secret aid to the opponents of the pro-Soviet regime in Kabul. And that very day, I wrote a note to the president in which I explained to him that in my opinion this aid was going to induce a Soviet military intervention….” (Interview with Zbigniew Brzezinski, Le Nouvel Observateur, 15-21 November 1998.)

We must always ask, “cui bono?” (Who benefits?)

Articles of Impeachment To Be Filed On Cheney

April 17, 2007

Thank you Rep. Kucinich!
(Courtesy of the Washington Post)

Rep. Dennis Kucinich (D-Ohio), the most liberal of the Democratic presidential candidates in the primary field, declared in a letter sent to his Democratic House colleagues this morning that he plans to file articles of impeachment against Vice President Dick Cheney.

Kucinich has made ending the war in Iraq the central theme of his campaign. He has even taken aim at the leading Democratic presidential candidates in the field for their votes on authorizing the war.

Article II, Section 4 of the Constitution gives Congress the authority to impeach the president, vice president and “all civil Officers of the United States” for “treason, bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors.”

John Bolton as Guest on CNN

April 5, 2007

Okay, I know that CNN is the ‘good cop’ to the Fox Network’s ‘bad cop’ – it may seem better, but they are on the same team.  But I can’t help getting pissed off when they do something so blatantly stupid and biased as they did yesterday.

I was watching AC 360 briefly as I was eating lunch or breakfast or whatever, and saw that substitute host John Roberts had John Bolton on as his ONE and ONLY guest.  Way to go to get several sides of an issue and present a “fair and balanced” story… NOT!

This is only days after John Bolton appeared on the Daily Show with  Jon Stewart (can parents STOP naming their kids John or Jon for a couple decades please??) and the very next day, Jon did what right wingers must consider similar to a splash of holy water in the face of a vampire: the dreaded “Fact Check”!

Here is the Daily Shows fact check that proves that John Bolton has NO IDEA what the fuck he is talking about.  Further, it shows how Bolton will state facts with great authority and seeming gravitas as if he knows without any doubt that what he is saying is fact… despite the fact that he is totally full of shit.

So CNN has this retarded armchair politico on to get his important opinion on the handling of the British hostages in Iran.  Roberts asks Bolton questions such as “does that prove that quiet diplomacy is the correct way to approach Iran?” “If you were Britain, how would you have approached this crisis?” then repeats the same question again to “propel the propaganda” in the words of the worst president ever.

Here is the sickening transcript.  Bolton goes on to refute Roberts’ claim that “no one has yet proven that they [Iran] are actually trying to acquire nuclear weapons” by saying, “I don’t think there really can be any doubt what Iran’s intentions are.”

I think Jon Stewart proved that John Bolton spits lies like a … well, like a … like a Republican.  Makes sense I suppose, because that is what he is: a LYING piece of shit Republican.

US and Britain Poised to Attack Iran

March 25, 2007

Much like the UN resolution on Iraq passed in November, 2002 gave cover to the US and Britain for the invasion of Iraq (which subsequently occured early the following year), the recent UN resolution on Iran, which imposes severe sanctions, will provide the cover that the US and Britain desire to invade Iran.  It serves to set Iran up as defiant, rogue-ish and threatening in the eyes of the rest of the world.

Additionally, the recent capture of British troops by Iran will serve to reinforce this view that an invasion of Iran is justified.  Remember the Israeli troops that were captured in Lebanon and the Israeli attack that ensued?  Capture of their troops was used as a reason to attack.  But there was plenty of evidence that showed the Israeli troops had illegally entered Lebanese territory and that their capture was called a kidnapping to justify an invasion.

The case against Iran is being made by the US and Britain right now.  They are using the same tactics we have seen before… primarily false allegations… lies.

To what extent is Iran really fomenting anti-US sentiment in Iraq?  Were British troops really in Iranian waters?  Is the UN sanction on Iran another key element in the justification for invading Iran?

It seems obvious to me, a lowly common citizen, that the case is being made to invade Iran.  I expect that unless Congress can prevent Bush from attacking Iran - and they won’t be able to if world opinion is mostly against Iran because of these false allegations made against them – then we will be in the middle of another war in the Middle East.

This one will be like Iraq on steroids, because Iran (unlike Iraq) is a powerful country with a powerful military force and almost 3 times the population of Iraq, almost 7 times the GDP of Iraq and about 4 times as large as Iraq.  What is also scary is that “More than two-thirds of the population is under the age of 30, and the literacy rate is 86%.”  They are young, smart, numerous and well-armed.

We can’t even manage to hold our own ground in Iraq – which is relative child’s play compared to what an invasion of Iran would be like.  We cannot afford to invade Iran.  We would not be happy with the resulting quagmire.  It might even be the last thing we ever do as a wealthy, powerful, sovereign nation.  It could be our flight of Icarus, our foolish attempt to reach the sun based on our own hubris and total lack of reason and total loss of touch with reality.  It could be our undoing.

The 9/10 President

March 22, 2007

The 9/10 President is an article Malcontent suggested I read.  I did and thought it was both interesting and insightful.  Above, I provide a link to the PDF file of the article, and below are a couple highlights…

The disturbing truth is that Bush’s domestic agenda has not only made the nation less prosperous and less fair, it has also made it less safe.”

What ought to be obvious but has somehow escaped public attention is that Bush’s top priorities are not new spending on homeland security but the same conservative aims that animated him before September 11, 2001. The traditional conservative view of government spending celebrates military outlays while disparaging pretty much everything else. And, despite the lip service it pays to homeland security, the Bush administration continues to view spending through that prism.”

Indeed, it is in Bush’s interest to engineer showdowns with Congress over spending, in order to connect growing deficits in the public’s mind with profligate spenders in Congress rather than with tax cutters in the White House.”

the administration seems to view his wartime popularity as a massive bank of political capital from which they can withdraw and spend on other, unrelated causes. In the short run, this strategy is a political boon for Bush and his party. But, in the long run, it divides and weakens the nation against its external threats.”

‘Every tree with it’s own ReThug cat!’ Yow! This could get pretty interesting.

March 17, 2007

‘I told you so…’ don’t even begin to capture the feeling.
