It’s Time to Stop Playing Games!

I was just reading Tristero over at Hullabaloo and he said something which set me off. To wit:

“More importantly, given how much political capital Dems have right now, there is only one reason I can think of why this country should tolerate any more of Bush’s clowning: We’re so used to it we can’t think of anything better. But let’s conduct a quick thought experiment: Imagine a presidency where top positions were filled by qualified women and men, not goons so unconditionally loyal they had knee pads surgically attached. “

Bold emphasis by me. Sadly, he then goes off and posts some good stuff about the Bush Crime Family and how Robert Gates, the new Sec of Defense nominee, is nothing more than an old family retainer who can be relied upon to prop Junior up as best he can. Well…even Rove can’t do that anymore.

So what might we come up with if we just threw out all the Pavlovian conditioning that Rove with the help of the Mighty Wurlitzer has tried to imprint on our brains. No big problem for me since as an unpaid blogger I don’t have to contend with what Upton Sinclair so aptly described during out last outbreak of fascist idiotcracy in our nation back in the 30s.

  • First, we know things are not going so well in Iraq.
  • Second, we know that the current leadership in D.C. under the management of BubbleBoy and DickHead are responsible for this. This is not a subject for debate any longer no matter what Pam or Pillbaugh thinks.
  • Third, we know that the American people know this too. How, well we had us an election and as BubbleBoy famously said, ‘Politics has consequences.’
  • Fourth, we know that despite the memos from Professor John Woo that the nomination of ‘Bob’ Gates must be approved by the Senate. At least until ‘The Idiot’ says otherwise. Oh, wait he tried that with Bolton and that didn’t work so well did it. Gotta love The Note; they are such dickheads about everything.

So, I propose that we revisit those days of old when Democrats knew what to say and do about a fascist poseur and indulge in some old fashion advise and consent. The advise part would be  the Democrats in the Senate telling Bush that no hearings on the Gates nomination will take place until the new congress is seated. Bush can fume and scream but you see the ‘Nuclear Option’ is now off the table ain’t it.

Then when Gates comes before the Senate Armed Services Committee they reject his nomination. He is not really qualified and he will be no solution to the problems our armed forces face. He will be, and Carl Levin should have no problem demonstrating that fact, When ‘The Idiot’ starts spewing about ‘obstructionism’ the Democrats need only say, ‘The American people want change they elected us to start it. Shut up and send us someone who knows what can be done to get us out of Iraq. No Michael Brown’s  will be appointed on our watch. Period.’

Now some would say, ‘Throw The Decider the anvil and let him go down’. That’s just wrong. Wrong for our citizens fighting as troops in Iraq, wrong for the Iraqi’s whose country we have destroyed, and wrong politically. Make no mistake, the people will be watching. They elected the folks they elected so that change would begin. Right. Fucking. Now..

So, Senators Biden, Joey, Levin  and all the rest of ya.

Ya better come out fightin’

Or we’ll run yer ass of in 2008 and beyond.

The netroots have a looooooooooooong memory.

I, A.Citizen, approved this message.

  1. The Dems need to have hearings, issue subpoena’s, investigate, and throw these thugs in jail where they belong. These guys make the Nixon administration look like choir boys.

  2. Mick says:

I hope the progressives are not all talk.

You are very close to finally making the final turn left to socialism.

You have two years to show the country what America will be like under Big Brother/Big Sis.

(Then, the free enterprise Republicans will be swept back in power for a generation in the House, Senate and the President’s position.)

  3. A.Citizen says:

I can’t quite make out whether you’re a troll or just have trouble with your syntax. Come back when you’ve figured out what to say.

    Here are some suggestions:

Make clear what side you are on, you seem to be a side-taking kinda person.

The logical endpoint of progressive politics is not socialism. Study up over at Wikipedia.

If by ‘you’ you mean progressives like myself then I think we’ve got a lot more than two years.

Because when Americans see what the ReichWing under President ‘Decider’ has been up to…

Well, I look forward to the DOJ breaking St. Ronnie’s administration record for criminal indictments.

Lastly, there is no such thing as a ‘free enterprise Republican’ only a gaggle of religious whackjobs, thieve, psychopaths and their sycophants.

Oh, they got a bunch o’ criminals in there too as I mentioned earlier.

And when ‘Big Sis’ Pelosi, Charley Wrangel, Henry Waxman and the rest git done with the Bush Posse…

Dey be cryin’ like da punks they are.

  4. Mick says:

Did you do a little extra voting? Tell us about your brave new tactics to win.

  5. Mick says:

You should read at least one book on free enterprise and economics.

  6. A.Citizen says:

Mick, yer definitely a troll. As such dialogue is impossible.

    Res Ipsa Loquitor.

  7. Mick says:

How do you define troll? Anyone who disagrees with progressive socialism?

I guess you just want to “discuss” politics with your own kind. That’s like chasing your tail.

  8. A.Citizen says:

In my opinion a troll is someone who shows up on a blog, makes a lot of unsubstantiated statements, and cannot defend his corner.

You are fighting with one arm tied behind your back since you apparently don’t have a dictionary and refuse to use Wikipedia.

One, there is no such thing as ‘progressive socialism’, politically the two words describe different approaches to what politics should be about.

Two, ad hominem attacks such as “you should read a book on ‘free market capitalism’ are annoying and not productive.

Three, it’s against the law to do a ‘little extra voting’, another ad hominem attack.

Four, the use of the phrase ‘your own kind’ is pejoritive and adds nothing to the dialogue.

Frankly Mick you’re boring me with your sophomoric attempts to irritate me.

Which U.S. President was the head of the Progressive Party of the United States and when was that?

  9. Mick says:

The most recent was Jimmy Carter. Before that, FDR. Do I win a poster of Fidel?

  10. A.Citizen says:

Teddy Roosvelt was head of The Progressive Party, so named in 1912.

So, now you’re gonna tell us that Teddy was a socialist.

History can be informative. You might consider taking a year or two off from blogging and studying some.

  11. Mick says:

TR was a Republican and a reformist! I’ve read three books on him. I’m reading Anthem right now about your utopian government ideals.

  12. A.Citizen says:

That is correct TR was a Republican and he was a reformer.

So I take it he didn’t make the cut as a ‘socialist’?

I don’t consider Rand a Utopian. Perhaps yer bein’ snarky here? Libertarianism is political philosophy for teenagers. It’s paranoid and let’s face it just plain wrong.

The Founders of our country knew better than to imagine that society can exist without government. It can’t. And to use the straw man argument that government must inevitably become fascist and totalitarianism ignores the fact that that all men and women would wish to be free.

Mr. Jefferson said: ‘I have no fear that the result of our experiment will be that men may be trusted to govern themselves without a master.’

I’m down with that. Ann Rand was a good writer but a real shitty political philosopher.

She does not speak for me.

    Nobody does that but me.
